DESCRIPTION:The annual SoCal Aggies Beach Bonfire is back on Saturday\, August 17th! \n⠀\nWHAT TO BRING:\nThe club will be grilling up hamburgers/hotdogs\, but bringing drinks\, side dishes\, and desserts is much appreciated! Beach games\, footballs\, canopies\, chairs\, coolers\, etc. are always helpful too! Please note that California State Beaches do not allow alcohol or glass containers.\n⠀\nWHERE TO MEET:\nWe will be at the Newland Ramadas at Huntington State Beach on Saturday\, August 17th. This is the same location as last year! We will begin setting up around 11am and be there until after sunset.\n⠀\nWHERE TO PARK:\nOur contact at CA State Parks has said that parking lots ($20) have been filling up in the early afternoon\, so carpooling\, arriving early\, and/or Ubering from a nearby location are all encouraged!\n⠀\nIn past years we’ve had trouble accessing the lots from the south (no left turns) and from across the highway\, so I would suggest you take the Pacific Coast Highway from north of our location (heading south) as shown on the map below to more easily join the traffic pattern that is turning right into the parking lots. Please note: the Newland St entrance is closed. Use the Beach Blvd entrance and drive through the parking lot towards the Newland Picnic Area A. DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss the Annual SoCal Aggies Crawfish Boil!\n⠀\nDate: Saturday\, May 18th\nTime: 2pm to evening\nLocation: La Crescenta — address to be provided upon ticket purchase.\n⠀\nCLICK HERE FOR CRAWFISH BOIL TICKETS\n⠀\n\nEach person will receive 2-3 pounds of crawfish\, shrimp\, sausage\, corn and potatoes. Drinks and Blue Bell ice cream will also be provided. \nThis is a very slim crawfish year so there is a slight possibility we have to pivot to shrimp if there is last-minute supply-chain issue (as happened a few years ago)\, but in consideration of these conditions\, we’ve moved the event to May to better our chances at getting a robust crawfish haul.  \nFeel free to bring anything else you want— grills and charcoal will be provided for anyone that does not eat seafood and wants to bring something to grill (please email us if you plan to do this instead). \nThis is a family-friendly event! Lawton ‘88. Steve holds a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from A&M\, as well as an MBA from St. Edward’s University. He has over 30 years of business experience ranging from the astronaut office at NASA to an executive at Dell. Steve is also the author of “Head First! A Crash Course in Positivity\,” an amazing story about how his attitude literally saved his life. SUMMARY:Annual Beach Bonfire
DESCRIPTION:The annual SoCal Aggies Beach Bonfire is back on Saturday\, August 19th! \n⠀\nWHAT TO BRING:\nThe club will be grilling up hamburgers/hotdogs\, but bringing drinks\, side dishes\, and desserts is much appreciated! Beach games\, footballs\, canopies\, chairs\, coolers\, etc. are always helpful too! Please note that California State Beaches do not allow alcohol or glass containers.\n⠀\nWHERE TO MEET:\nWe will be at the Newland Ramadas at Huntington State Beach on Saturday\, August 19th. This is a slightly different location than last year but in the same stretch of beach. We will begin setting up around 10am and be there until after sunset.\n⠀\nWHERE TO PARK:\nOur contact at CA State Parks has said that parking lots ($20) have been filling up in the early afternoon\, so carpooling\, arriving early\, and/or Ubering from a nearby location are all encouraged!\n⠀\nIn past years we’ve had trouble accessing the lots from the south (no left turns) and from across the highway\, so I would suggest you take the Pacific Coast Highway from north of our location (heading south) as shown on the map below to more easily join the traffic pattern that is turning right into the parking lots. Please note: the Newland St entrance is closed. Use the Beach Blvd entrance and drive through the parking lot towards the Newland Picnic Area A. DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss the Annual SoCal Aggies Crawfish Boil!\n⠀\nDate: Saturday June 3rd\nTime: 2pm to evening\nLocation: Thomas’ house: 1010 N Raymond Avenue\, Pasadena CA 91103\nStreet parking is free\n⠀\nTickets for this event are no longer available.\n⠀\n\nEach person will receive 2-3 pounds of crawfish\, shrimp\, sausage\, corn and potatoes. Drinks and ice cream will also be provided. \nAs many may remember\, we have run into last-minute issues sourcing crawfish in the past (flight delays\, etc.) but we strongly believe we will be able to get the crawfish this year. \nFeel free to bring anything else you want— grills and charcoal will be provided for anyone that does not eat seafood and wants to bring something to grill. \nThis is a family-friendly event! A swimming pool will be available for use as well as yard games for kids to play and there will be fresh apples available to pick off an apple tree. \nSome things we can always use more of: \n\nDesserts\nSides/Chips/Dips\nBeer (we are working on Texas liquor donations)\nAdditional yard games and dominoes\nCoolers\nCanopies\n\nIt is also Blue Bell Ice Cream pickup day! Blue Bell Ice Cream will be distributed to those who order it whether or not you stay for the boil. There are not multiple locations for pick up this year: Pickup will occur in Pasadena on this day only! \nIf you are unable to pickup on this day\, we encourage you to use our Facebook Group to find other Aggies in your area that may be attending.
